About the Video Frame Grabber

Pulls full-resolution stills out of a video, in your browser. Drop the clip, step to the frame you want, grab it; or mark a range and let the tool pull an evenly spaced set.

Every Setting

Position
The scrubber, with a filmstrip for jumping around a long clip quickly.
Step
Moves by one second or one actual frame in either direction, for landing on the exact moment.
Range
Set Start and Set End mark the stretch you care about; grabs and the evenly spaced set respect it.
Grab Evenly Spaced
Pulls a set of stills spread across the clip or the marked range, with a working Cancel.
Format
PNG for exact pixels, JPEG for smaller files.
Downloads
Everything grabbed as one ZIP, or a contact sheet that lays every still on a single page.

Common Questions

What does detected frame rate mean?
Browsers do not expose a video’s frame rate directly, so the tool measures it and steps by that. Odd footage can fool the estimate; the stills are unaffected.
What comes out?
Stills at the video’s native resolution, never upscaled.
