Privacy,
in plain English.

Mockstack runs entirely in your browser. The screenshots you upload never reach our servers, we don't have servers for them to reach. Ads and basic traffic analytics are handled by Google. That's the whole story; the rest of this page is the detail.

What we don't do

What we do store, on your device

The tool uses your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences and any compositions you save. This data lives entirely in your browser. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no way to read it.

What goes into localStorage:

You can clear all of this at any time via your browser's site-data settings, or by clicking "Reset" inside the tool.

Cookies & similar technologies

Mockstack does not set its own cookies for the tool's features, your preferences live in localStorage (above), a separate browser storage mechanism that you control.

The Google services we load, Firebase Analytics and AdSense, do set their own cookies and similar identifiers on the pages that load their scripts. Both are described below.

If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before loading analytics, and nothing analytics-related runs until you accept. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which restores the prompt on your next visit.

Third-party services

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to fund the site. No advertisements are being displayed at present, but the AdSense script is loaded on the home page and in the tool, and it may set cookies and similar identifiers. When ads return, Google uses those technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or, for European users, via Your Online Choices.

Google's full advertising and privacy practices are described in Google's advertising privacy policy.

Firebase Analytics (Google)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, which pages get visited, and how often. It logs events such as page views along with coarse, non-identifying signals (an approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type) and a pseudonymous identifier stored on your device. We read this only in aggregate to see what's popular; we don't use it to identify you, and it isn't tied to any account because there are none. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's privacy policy, and you can review how Google uses it via How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Google Fonts

We load Inter and JetBrains Mono from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log your IP address as part of font delivery; see Google's privacy policy.

Static hosting

The site is served by a static-content hosting provider. The host receives standard web-server logs, IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp, for the limited purpose of operating the site and protecting against abuse. We do not access these logs except to investigate incidents.

Your rights

We collect no data that identifies you, the analytics above is aggregate and pseudonymous, and we hold no accounts or profiles. As a result most data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability) have little to act on. For data collected by the third parties above, please use their own controls.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, and you believe a third party serving content through this site has mishandled your data, contact us at support@discovolantelabs.com and we'll help you reach the right party.

Children

Mockstack is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data to a third party via this site, contact us and we will work with the relevant service to investigate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves, for example, if we add a new third-party service. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Mockstack after a change constitutes acceptance. The terms of use cover the rest of the agreement.
