How it works

Raw screenshot in.
Whole store set out.

The marketing screenshots every App Store and Play Store listing needs, from raw capture to a folder of store-ready PNGs.

The problem

Raw screenshots
don't sell apps.

The store shows a flat capture on white, no headline, no context. People scroll past. Mockstack turns the same file into something they stop on.

Pick a Lane, Fill in Your Copy.

Same screenshot, six totally different listings. The whole library is in the tool, these are screenshots of what's inside.

Example output

One design.
Every size.

Compose once. Mockstack re-renders the same composition at each store's exact dimensions, a fresh canvas per size, never a padded or upscaled master.

The workflow

Five steps,
about ten minutes.

Your work saves to your own browser as you go.

01

Upload Your Screenshot

Drop a screenshot into a slot, or bulk-upload your whole set into the screenshot library. Mockstack reads each image's aspect ratio, picks the device frame that fits, and samples the dominant and accent colors from your app's own UI.

02

Pick a Background

Choose from curated solids, gradients, and meshes, or use one of the four backgrounds derived from the colors already in your screenshot, brand, duo, tint, and shade. Deriving the background from the app is what makes a set look designed rather than assembled; it ties the listing back to the product without you hunting for hex codes.

03

Choose a Frame and Layout

Pick a device frame, iPhone, iPhone with notch, iPad, Android, Android tablet, and then a layout: one screen shown large, two side by side, or three fanned with depth. Tilt presets handle the angles. One screen large is right for a hero feature; the fan works when you're showing a flow rather than a single screen.

04

Write the Caption

Add a headline and a subline. Both are sized for legibility at store thumbnail scale by default, which is the constraint most screenshot sets get wrong, a caption that reads fine on your monitor is decoration at one-sixth size. If a feature needs pointing at, drag on an arrow, a NEW badge, or a label and recolor it. Our copywriting guide covers what to actually write.

05

Export Every Size

Export a single PNG at the current canvas size, or take the whole set: a ZIP with your design re-rendered at every required App Store and Play Store dimension, each one drawn fresh at native resolution rather than scaled from a master. Files come out named by screen order and size, ready to upload.

Beyond the first one

Built for the
whole set.

A listing is never one screenshot. The parts that matter show up on the fifth one, and on the release after this one.

→

The Whole Listing, Not One Image

Both stores accept up to ten marketing images per listing, and one Mockstack project holds all ten. Each image gets its own design and its own screenshots, and you can reorder or rename them so they upload in the order shoppers will see them. They share one screenshot library, so the same capture can appear in several without re-uploading. "Review all" renders the full set at once, which is the quickest way to spot a listing that drifts halfway through.

→

Templates and Comps

Six compositions load a full design in one click. Snapshot any state as a comp and come back to it, or export a template file and re-import it next release, which is what keeps a redesign from costing you the screenshots a second time. Undo and redo cover every control.

→

Your Work Stays Yours

Work autosaves locally, so a refresh doesn't lose anything. Exports are clean, with no watermark or attribution. Anything you make is yours to use on either store, your site, or paid ads.

The controls

Every control,
explained.

What each panel in the editor does, in the order you meet them.

1

Device and Layout

The editor reads your screenshot's shape and picks the matching frame: iPhone with Dynamic Island or notch, iPad, Android phone or tablet. Layout pills switch between phone and tablet, and between one screenshot, two side by side, or three fanned with depth. The frame body comes in five finishes plus a custom color.

2

Background

Three tabs: solid, gradient and mesh, each with a curated set. Upload a screenshot and the editor samples its dominant and accent colors and offers matched backgrounds, which is what ties the comp to your brand without a color picker safari.

3

Tilt

Five presets: flat, hero, fan left, fan right, and a custom angle. Tilt is what makes a three-screenshot comp read as one composition instead of three rectangles.

4

Caption

The headline above the device, sized to stay readable when the store shrinks your screenshot to a search result. Each screen in a project carries its own caption, and captions can be written per language for localized listings.

5

Stickers

Arrows, badges, tags and labels you drag onto the canvas, then recolor and rotate. The selection ring around a sticker is preview-only; it never appears in an export.

6

Export

One PNG at the current canvas size, or All Sizes: the same design re-rendered natively at every store dimension and zipped. Nothing is padded or upscaled; each size is a fresh render.

Make
the first one.

Sixty seconds and you'll have a screenshot you're proud to put on the store.

Or read the six controls it gives you, or the FAQ.
